ARA seeks your input. . .
In this "transitional" year, ARA seeks your input. . .
What do you think of having Quarterly meetings?
Do you have any ideas for future meetings to make them appealing to the group's diverse interests?
Would you be willing to be a presenter or find a presenter for a meeting?
The 22nd Annual Open Awards Show is in July . . .
Do you have any suggestions to improve this year's show?
Would you be willing to take a more active role in the planning and operation of the show?
Do you have any ideas for the theme of this year's challenge show? (past shows have been Master's paintings, variation of a photograph, primary colors)
Any other suggestions, comments?
We look forward to hearing from you.
Please send your ideas to Karen Lawrence at mavin2art@yahoo.com
Pueblo Bank & Trust Displays
It's time to change the display at PB&T. The good news is the holiday art show had some sales & maybe we can continue the trend with the new show.
"The Heart of Art" will be hung at Pueblo Bank & Trust Friday, February 3rd at 1 p.m. This show will feature artwork that evokes emotion, whether its that cute baby, a touching sunset, the beauty of a flower, etc. The sky's the limit because isn't art supposed to stir the emotions? Or perhaps, you would like to take it more literally and include a heart?
Upcoming PB&T Shows
Look for exact date and time for the other shows in later newsletters.
April - May . . .
"Spring Fling" - Spring is in the air and this show will feature artwork with feel of warmer days ahead.
June - July . . .
"Summer Celebration" - This show will feature artwork that celebrates the summer season of warm days and outdoor activities.
March Meeting
It's the first Quarterly Meeting of the year! Members are asked to bring something to share for a potluck dinner and show. ARA will furnish drinks, plates, etc. and show
"David Hockney, A Bigger Picture."
This 60 minute DVD is an intimate portrait of the artist as he returns to plein air paint in his native Yorkshire. This insightful film looks not only into Hockney's painting techniques, but also his philosophy of painting and life. It's a video for the photographer as much as the painter.
